The Roots Team
Aretha is a licensed clinical social worker with 24 years of mental health experience. She supports children, adults, couples and families who are experiencing significant traumas and stress in their relationships, communities, homes, hospital/clinic and work/school environments. Her style is relaxed and conversational. Aretha listens, observes and uses various evidence based therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Narrative Therapy, Attachment-Based Family Therapy, and Brainspotting (Phase 1 and Phase 2). She completed the Napa Infant-Parent Mental Health Fellowship to support her work with pregnant and parenting families. She is currently enrolled in Fielding Graduate University's Infant and Early Childhood Development doctoral program. Aretha accepts private pay at $175 for individuals and $250 for couples. She accepts Lyra, Cigna, Blue Cross Blue Shield (assigned to Magellan) and Berkeley Ship (UC Berkeley student insurance).
Paris is a registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and Associate Professional Clinical counselor with four years of experience. She specializes in children and adults struggling with self-esteem, peer issues, family conflict, or difficulty with transitions such as high school to college or college to career. Paris also works with adults who are experiencing difficulty with mood management, relationship conflict as well as adults who are exploring their identity and health practices. She uses a variety of modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to support clients where they are. She is supervised by Ms. Hampton. Paris accepts private pay at $150 per session.

Elisa is an executive assistant who is creative, skillfully organized and supports the team with scheduling clients and managing the day to day details of the practice.
